Position Summary

As a Personal Support Worker, you will provide residents with assistance in their daily living activities while promoting dignity, independence, comfort, and quality of life. You will work closely with residents, families, and members of the health care team to ensure exceptional care and service.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Support residents with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using safe techniques and equipment.
• Assist with meal service and feeding when required.
• Observe, document, and report changes in residents’ physical, emotional, or cognitive well-being.
• Respond promptly to resident needs and emergency situations.
• Foster meaningful relationships with residents and encourage participation in daily activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow established care plans.
• Adhere to all infection prevention and control, workplace safety, and emergency procedures.
• Collaborate effectively with nursing staff and other team members to provide high-quality resident care.

Qualifications

• Personal Support Worker Certificate from an accredited program.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification is considered an asset.
• Experience working with seniors in retirement living, long-term care, or community settings is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrated compassion, patience, and respect for older adults.
• Reliable, professional, and committed to providing exceptional resident care.

Schedule

• Day, evening, night, and weekend shifts available.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays as required.
